Setting up Vectorworks Remote

The Vectorworks Remote app allows you to control the Vectorworks application from your mobile device. Vectorworks Remote has two components: the Vectorworks Remote mobile app and a Vectorworks Remote connection plug-in, which is included in Vectorworks as a menu command. When the two components are connected, the app displays a list of remotes. Interactively use the remotes to view, navigate, and present designs on your computer. To set up Vectorworks Remote, first install the Vectorworks Remote app on your mobile device.
To establish the remote connection:
Select the command.
The Vectorworks Remote Setup dialog box opens.
Click to show/hide the parametersClick to show/hide the parameters

Server Status |
Displays the status of the Vectorworks desktop server |

Stop Server |
Stops the Vectorworks desktop server, disconnecting the Vectorworks Remote app |

Start Server |
If the Vectorworks desktop server is stopped, starts the server and allows for connection to the Vectorworks Remote app |

Run server on Vectorworks launch |
Starts the server automatically when Vectorworks launches |

Advanced Settings |
Opens the Advanced Settings dialog box, displaying the Server IP of the Vectorworks desktop server and the Server Port through which the Vectorworks desktop server is listening. By default, the Vectorworks Remote app connects to the Vectorworks desktop server through port 8090. If the network blocks this port, enter the number of an open port. If multiple instances of Vectorworks are installed on the same computer, they will connect to the app through different ports. To reset the Server Port to 8090, click Set Defaults. |

Open the Vectorworks Remote mobile app and connect to Vectorworks using one of the methods provided on the initial screen of the app.

When the connection is established, click OK to close the Vectorworks Remote Setup dialog box.
